Today, one often encounters the situation where companies introduce a PDM system, replace an old PDM system, or centrally merge articles from several locations with different CAD formats. This is associated with a large amount of work. At the same time, one would like to get rid of the duplicates that exist in the inventory and not transfer them to the new system. These migration projects are time-consuming. So any support is welcome. SIMUFORM offers versatile support here, depending on the overall goal of the company...
Migration projects demand top performance from you: a lot of work in little time. At the same time, a high standard of quality must be maintained, because business processes depend on it. Simple but effective is the top motto here.
Here, the holistic consolidation of technical and commercial information plays an outstanding role. Rising material costs, higher quality requirements, shorter delivery times, volatile markets, and many more are just a few of the challenging conditions. Strategic purchasing and operational purchasing have a more important role in companies today than in the past.
SIMUFORM's just-in-time migration concept takes into account that not all items in inventory need to be migrated to the new system immediately. If only the most important about 10% to 15% of the articles are migrated in the first step, this significantly reduces the initial effort. At the same time, all other non-migrated items remain on the user's radar as if they had already been migrated. Initially, the user does not notice any difference between "migrated" and "non-migrated" data. However, he has non-migrated records immediately in his access when needed. As soon as this legacy data record is used, it is transferred to the new system using a defined process flow.
This is how your PLM migration projects and your PLM merge projects become successful.
